At LISA Academy, our Elementary School programs (grades K-5) provide a dynamic and nurturing environment where young leaders embark on a journey of academic discovery and personal growth. With a strong emphasis on STEM-C, character development, and individualized learning, we prepare students for future success in a rapidly evolving world.

Curriculum Highlights

STEM-C Focused Learning

Our curriculum integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics plus Computing across all subjects, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills from an early age.

Every LISA Academy elementary student in grades 1-5 participates in weekly STEM-C classes. Students engage in hands-on projects, collaborative problem-solving, and real-world applications of STEM-C concepts. Computer skills are embedded directly into STEM-C lessons to build digital literacy from an early age.

LISA Academy provides high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) for literacy instruction:

Benchmark Universe serves as the core curriculum.
Lexia Core-5 supports intervention for students needing extra assistance.
Heggerty (K-1) and Magnetic Reading Foundation provide structured phonics instruction.

High-quality, evidence-based literacy screeners are administered for grades K-3 at the start, middle, and end of the school year. Aggregated data is analyzed annually to inform support services. Students performing below grade level receive specialized tutoring. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, 3rd grade students failing to meet state standards may repeat the grade, per LEARNS Act regulations. Each campus implements a schoolwide reading plan to support student achievement.

Emphasis on writing skills, including grammar, composition, and creative expression.

Mathematics

Our Math curriculum focuses on building a solid understanding of mathematical concepts.

Math instruction is supported with HQIM materials, including IXL and Reflex Math. Students in grades 3-8 who are not performing at or above grade level on state assessments receive individualized math intervention plans. Services include push-in/pull-out support and tutoring. Aggregated data is monitored closely to guide instruction and interventions.

Social Studies and Character Education

LISA Academy uses the Leader in Me program to teach character, leadership, and personal responsibility. Through project-based learning and real-world applications, students build empathy, teamwork, and civic awareness, preparing them to be productive, responsible citizens.

Gifted and Talented Program

Homework and Parent Engagement

Students receive 1-2 homework assignments per core subject weekly to reinforce learning and growth. Take-home folders support communication between school and home, improving completion, comprehension, and academic responsibility.
