What is the AP School Honor Roll?

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes high schools that expand access to AP coursework while supporting student success. Schools are evaluated using three key criteria tied to college readiness and opportunity.

1. College Culture

This measure reflects the percentage of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school.

  • Gold benchmark: 65% or higher
    • LISA Academy West High: 79%
    • LISA Academy North High: 56%

2. College Credit

This criterion measures the percentage of seniors who earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam.

  • Gold benchmark: 35% or higher
    • LISA Academy West High: 41%
    • LISA Academy North High: 37%

3. College Optimization

This recognizes students who took five or more AP exams during high school, including at least one exam in 9th or 10th grade.

  • Gold benchmark: 10% or higher
    • LISA Academy West High: 35%
    • LISA Academy North High: 10%

Why AP Participation Matters

These awards emphasize the importance of enrolling in AP courses, regardless of exam outcomes. Research consistently shows that students benefit academically from the challenge of AP coursework, even if they do not earn a passing exam score. AP classes build critical thinking, strengthen study skills, and prepare students for the expectations of college-level work.

Looking Ahead: A Strong Path Forward

Beginning with the graduating class of 2027-28, all LISA Academy high school students will be required to complete at least one AP course to graduate. With this expanded access, and with AP exam rates remaining strong, we are confident that students will graduate ready for college and beyond.
