The Science Olympiad and TechRise teams from West Middle School were interviewed at the most recent State Board of Education meeting! Our students did a wonderful job explaining their excitement for their upcoming competitions. We can't wait to hear the results of our jaguar's fine efforts!

We are very proud of both the West Middle School Science Olympiad team, and the West Middle School NASA TechRise team! This group of students has done an outstanding job representing LISA Academy while championing STEM achievements, especially at the most recent State Board of Education meeting.

  • The Science Olympiad team won the Arkansas State Science Olympiad Championship in March. They will go on to compete at the Science Olympiad National Tournament at the University of Southern California on May 22 and 23. The national tournament brings together the best of the best from across the country to compete in a spectrum of STEM challenges.
  • The TechRise team's AlterViolet project stood out among hundreds of submissions nationwide for its creativity, scientific merit, and engineering design. This winning team, the only one chosen in the state of Arkansas, will move on to have their experiment tested on a suborbital flight this summer.

Thank you to the coaches and mentors who have supported these students, and fostered a love for STEM, creativity, and exploration.
