Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, announced that schools will be closed to on-site instruction for the remainder of the school year.  School will continue through AMI instruction.  Please check your student's school website for updates, resources and instructions for students. If your family needs additional technology devices for LISA Academy students, please complete this form.

In a press conference today, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced that Arkansas Public schools will remain closed through April 17, 2020.  We will provide updated information and instructions for students as soon as possible.  Please check school websites frequently for new information.

Our schools continue to utilize distance learning through AMI days.  Please contact your student's school if you have questions or need resources.

In a press conference today, Governor Hutchinson announced that schools state-wide will be closing effective Tuesday, March 17 through the end of Spring Break.  Schools have the option to close or remain open Monday, March 16th if they choose to use that day to make preparations for AMI days.  LISA Academy Springdale will be closed beginning Monday and will be utilizing Alternative Methods of Instruction days March 16 - 20, 2020.
 
Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days will be used for students to complete learning remotely for March 13 and March 16 - 20, 2020 for LISA West and LISA North Campuses and March 16 - 20, 2020, for LISA Springdale. Please go to your student's school website to find AMI assignments. Students should work for approximately six hours per day.
 
The LISA Academy District Office and the individual schools will have staff members available to answer phone calls from 9:00-4:00 March 16-20, 2020.  You may also reach school personnel by email during those same hours.

The Arkansas Department of Education has directed schools in Pulaski, Grant, Saline and Jefferson counties to close from March 13 through March 29 due to COVID-19.  LISA Academy schools in Central Arkansas will be closed through Spring Break.
FREE INTERNET RESOURCES
  • Two months of Free Internet Access from Comcast (Effective Monday, March 16, 2020). More information at www.internetessentials.com
 
  • Charter Communications will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. More information available on the Charter website.
 
  • ALL Xfinity and Spectrum/Charter WiFi hotspots are free and unlimited for the next 60 days. Any business that uses Xfinity or Spectrum is now an OPEN Free Hotspot for public use.
    • Connect to the network name "xfinitywifi" or. "Spectrum WiFi" or "CableWiFi." Once connected the user should be able to open a web browser and accept the agreement to use the WiFi responsibly.
 
 
LISA Academy takes the health and safety of our students and staff very seriously.   We continue to closely monitor the situation and follow the guidelines provided by the Arkansas Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and will provide updates as we receive them. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to follow established best practices for the prevention of spreading respiratory diseases, including:
 
  • Stay home if sick or symptoms of respiratory illness – including fever, shortness of breath, cough –  are present.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your mouth when coughing.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched household items or surfaces.
  • Practice safe social distancing, avoiding close contact with those outside your home

If you or a family member are experiencing symptoms that you suspect could be COVID-19, you may utilize a free online screening service offered by UAMS Health through their online screening site or their hotline number. Both the Arkansas Department of Health and the CDC ask that you do not go to a medical facility if you have COVID-19 symptoms that are not severe, but that you utilize the hotline numbers or call your primary care provider for screening and instructions for testing and care.
